The associated tooling must meet the same level of precision to apply the connector to its intended purpose. Until now, very little attention has been focused on the tooling which is used to mount strain-relief backshells and other accessories to wired connector assemblies. CONNECTOR HOLDING PLIERS

The CW100-X connector holding plier series of tools are appropriately suited to connector maintenance and assembly operations where the connector and related hardware must be stabilized. For further assembly or disassembly. These operations included installation/removal of contacts, soldering, applying safety wires, installing saddle clamps or other strain relief components, mounting screws which hold receptacle connectors in place, and many more functions. The split ring design capable of gripping a range of diameters and includes a split ring of a different diameter on the opposite side of the tool head. In most cases the smaller diameter grips the plug portion of the connector, while the larger diameter is usually compatible with the mating receptacle connector.

NOTE: Applications requiring rotational force such as torquing of backshell components should be performed with other types of tooling such as adaptor tools.
